As beautiful as it was, the "Blizzard of '08" wreaked much havoc across western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. The Rapid City Journal reported that at least 1,500 utility poles were broken -- most of them in rural areas, causing widespread power outages. Utility workers from out of state are assisting area utility companies in efforts to restore service to all customers. Harding county to our north was particularly hard it. And now, some area residents are being advised of a flood watch throughout much of the region.
